The government finally ordered the Co-operative Group to release more details about Pennbury, their proposed “eco town”, and the Co-operative Group finally did it.
However, as the Public Consultation ended on 30 June, I can’t make any useful comments on them, so I won’t.
There won’t be any decisions made before the autumn, but the government hope to select “five to ten” proposals from the 15 shortlisted. However, two of the shortlisted proposals have now been withdrawn (clearly they also suffered from strong local opposition, lack of infrastructure and lack of detailed plans as to how the impact on the surrounding areas was going to be managed, lack of detailed plans on transport and failing to define “affordable”). So the “five to ten” will have to be selected from the thirteen remaining schemes.
